For me, departing from Toronto was parting from the familiar, in my case, my home, family and friends. There was a sense of sadness coupled with a feeling of excitement in encountering a new world in Rome. As if in sympathy, it was raining when I left home. My Japanese garden had an air of melancholy.
Arriving in Rome to blue skies and an aroma of orange blossom near the apartment, which Fidz had found near the Vatican, revived my spirits. The Roman adventure has begun……………..
